WHERE I'M FROM
Seven Seeds has been lucky enough to secure 70 kgs of this coffee grown by Carlos and Dora Tunubala. Finca El Naranjo is located in the mountains of San Vicente, Cauca, a department in the west renowned for high altitudes. Positioned at 1900 MASL, this high elevation means cooler mountain temperatures which prolong bean development and extend the maturation period resulting in a cup with complex sugars and flavours.

WHERE I'M FROM

Harvested in June in the beautiful region of Pitalito, Huila, this coffee is the product of Colombia’s fly crop. Colombia is one of the few coffee producing countries that lies directly on the equator and it is because of this that Colombia has two harvesting periods each year.
The fly crop is an alternate crop of coffee that is harvested at the opposite time of year from the main crop, which generally occurs September - December.

WHERE I'M FROM
A native New Yorker, Eugene Altieri has lived in Panama for the last 40 years. He acquired two abandoned coffee farms where he became interested and involved in the processes of improving coffee production.

His Geisha trees are between 3 - 5 years old and the coffee from these trees have ranked highly amongst some of the finest at Best of Panama coffee competitions for the last 3 years.

Highly sought after, this Geisha was purchased by Seven Seeds through the Best of Panama Coffee Auction. Competition for this stunning Micro Lot was fierce and we are very lucky to have secured a round to showcase in Melbourne.

WHERE I'M FROM
Over one thousand pairs of hands helped produce this coffee. Chorongi Coffee Factory is part of the Mutheka Coffee farmers Society, consisting of more than 5600 active farming members with around 1000 of them belonging to Chorongi. To maintain biodiversity, many of the farmers also grow maiza, banana and beans alongside their coffee trees. A combination of gravellea, macadamia and eucalyptus are planted to protect the coffee trees from the harsh sun.

WHERE I'M FROM
In the department of Chalatenango lies La Montanita, a region in El Salvador dedicated to producing quality coffee. Many of the coffee producers own small pieces of land and, unlike most small-scale coffee producers in El Salvador, this group de-pulp, wash and dry their cherries themselves.
The region of La Montanita is part of the famous Montecristo Trifinio, a tri-border national park shared by El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

WHERE I'M FROM
Named after the first priest to arrive in the region, Montenegro is home to a group of farmers producing small amounts of coffee, an average of two bags of parchment per day. Using their own micro mills the farmers wet process the coffee themselves before moving it to the Montecristo dry mill to be dried on raised beds. This sweet and complex coffee is the result of careful handling and production of their Bourbon and Pacas varietals.

WHERE I'M FROM
Maywal (also known as Maakiou) is a coffee farm located in both Kiambu County and Nairobi City County, separated by the Riara river. This beautiful estate was originally established by a Greek couple during the pre colonial period and changed hands to its current owners in 1974. This lot contains two varietals specific to Kenya, SL28 and SL24, which were developed in the 1930s for their drought resistant qualities. SL28 is highly sought after for its striking blackcurrent flavours which are inherent in many Kenya coffees.

Located in the mountain ranges of Pital, Huila lies Guillermo Osorio’s farm La Mirada. Huila is a region which contributes to 16 percent of Colombia’s total coffee production and is renowned for its specialty grade coffee. Grown at an altitude of 1600 masl, this coffee is dried on raised beds after a fermentation time of 18 hours. A complex and syrupy cup is the result of immense care and dedication taken during harvest.

WHERE I'M FROM
Miguel Viana was motivated to commence work in coffee by his brother Luis Viana, a man who is a pioneer in coffee production in the Piata region. Miguel bought his property in 1983, chosen because of the excellent quality of soil - pair this with the high altitude of 1400masl and we’ve got ourselves a fine quality coffee. While many coffees in Brazil are machine picked, the harvest at Campo Alegro is manual meaning only the ripest cherries are selected.

Fazenda Tijuco is located in Chapada Diamantina, in the municipality of Piata, Bahia. At an elevation of 1268 masl, it is the highest in the North and Northeast of Brazil. Coming from a coffee producing family and with a little encouragement from her husband, Terezinha Rigno started producing specialty coffee. She soon began enjoying the coffee producing culture motivating her to strive for quality and invest in infrastructure improvements. The efforts of the Rigno family can clearly be tasted in this sweet cup.

Edmundo and his wife Alba own 8 hectares of coffee producing land with a total of 27,000 coffee trees, a mix of Caturra and Colombia F6. With Edmundo’s careful expertise, this coffee is processed through a natural fermentation period of 20 hours followed by traditional sun drying. WHERE I'M FROM
The origins of Fazenda Progresso began with the migration of the Borré family from south Brazil to the northeast. The farm was originally a potato farm and began growing coffee in 2005 when the family decided to diversify. Fazenda Progresso has a strong focus on quality and picks 70% of their annual harvest by hand. This hard work is reflected by the cup quality of the coffee.
In 2015 Fazenda Progresso won 15th place in the Brazil Cup of Excellence competition.

This coffee produced by Lucila Andrade is grown in the mountains of Huila at an altitude of 1,750 masl. A high altitude, paired with care and dedication from Lucila, has resulted in a balanced and complex cup. Like many Colombian coffee producers Lucila uses a traditional fermentation method of 15-18 hours followed by drying the coffee on raised beds for 15 days.

Finca Buena Vista is owned and managed by the great Carlos Imbachi. Located in the hills of San Agustin in the Huila department of Colombia, positioned 1753 meters above sea level. Señor Imbachi is a man who understands and produces quality coffee, the awards that adorn the walls of his home are a reflection of his experience and hard work. Imbachi and his farm are highly respected in the region of San Agustin and his practises of farming are inspirational. One of his methods includes playing salsa music to the coffee pickers while they are working, increasing productivity and spreading joy in unison.

This coffee is grown in the hills of Imues, a small municipality in the department of Nariño, by coffee producer Cristobal Guachavez and his family. Cristobal uses a combination of patio and raised beds to dry his coffee over a period of 8-10 days, depending on the weather. It is this careful attention and care by the Guachavez family, that has produced this specialty offering.

WHERE I'M FROM
Seven Seeds has had the pleasure of purchasing this coffee for a number of years. Hailing from the hills of Huehuetenango of Guatemala, Guayabales is produced by the Villatoro family - a name standing for generations upon generations of coffee producers. The result of their unwavering hard work is a complex and sweet coffee with a smooth buttery body.

WHERE I'M FROM
Yachi Kachise is a Technoserve supported co-operative located in Agaro, Jimma. A membership of 87 workers process around 1 tonne of coffee which is dry milled and sorted at the OCFCU mill in Gelan, Oromia. This smaller co-operative has been consistently producing stunningly unique coffee since they received financing for a wet mill in 2010. This saw the co-op increase in its quality and price to an international market.

WHERE I'M FROM
Haro Sana co-op is situated in the Agaro area in Jimma, Ethiopia. Spanning 1300 hectares of farm land, the coffee - composed of heirloom varietals - is collected from farms that sit at elevations between 1800 - 2000 meters, washed, dried, then sorted at the dry mill which is situated in the area of Gelan, Oromia. This particular co-operative has been receiving assistance from the NGO Techno Serve, since 2010, and is a member of the OCFCU - a non-government, union organisation.

Timely and selective handpicking is carried out by this society of 2214 Farmers.
Cherry is delivered to the wet mills on the same day that it is picked. Red ripe cherries are separated from under-ripes, over-ripes and any other foreign matter. The result of all of this hard work is a coffee with impressive superior cup quality.

Rosalba Tunjas Farm, Carrizal, is located near the town of Inza. The three hectares of 5000 coffee trees that are growing on their farm consist of three different varietals; Caturra, Typica and Colombia. The Colombia variety is one ​created​ by crossing Caturra and the Timor Hybrid, obtained by Cenicafe. It is highly productive and resistant to coffee rust​ and was first released in 1982.
​These varietals and the dedication of the Tunja clan have resulted in a bright and fruity brew.

WHERE I'M FROM
Finca La Esperanza is no stranger to specialty coffee. With a long history in the business, Mr Villatoro has achieved exceptional results, having placed 7th in the 2015 Guatemala Cup of Excellence. Founded in 1956 with limited road access, Mr Villatoro’s love and dedication of coffee kept the farm going and they now have direct access to a dry mill in Palín. At 91 years old he’s still committed to leaving a legacy of high quality coffee to his family.

Timely and selective hand picking is carried out in the Kasheen society. Cherry is delivered to the wet mill the same day it is picked where it is sorted prior to pulping. The sorting process seperates the red ripe cherries from under-ripe and over-ripes. Sun-drying is done before the delivery of the coffee to the dry mill for secondary processing.
