TASTES LIKE Mango, Peach, CaramelPROFILE Syrupy & Sweet
ABOUT
Last year we had the pleasure of delivering a truly new delicious offering to you by way of Fredy Morales and his Rosma Lot 15, made up of a union of those mighty large beans Maragogype and Pacamara. Lot 14 was the selection for us this season. Even clearer in flavour and fruit juicier than last season, the roasters found this coffee a little easier to dial in.
Maragogype is a low yield natural mutation of Typica. Pacamara is a cross between the Pacas and Maragogype varieties, which has greater yield potential, so you could consider Maragogype to be one of the parents of Pacamara.
Depending on the desired result, a larger bean size can mean that you treat it differently when roasting. Having these two large beans together is an advantage as they will tend to take on heat and develop more uniformly.
This year we are happy to once again serve this stunning lot to you.
SOURCING
HARVEST January 2019
We determined a sustainable, profitable price for the growing longevity with the producer. As this coffee was purchased directly from Fredy Morales, who also completed the milling & export, we’ve listed the FOB (Freight on Board) inclusive of the Farmgate price. On top of FOB, we then pay to ship the coffee to Melbourne, quality assess, roast (resulting in a 15% weight loss), & retail it, adding significant costs & risk. You can read more about the way we source coffee via our website.
Compare the different trading models to see what the Fredy would have received if he hadn’t sold to Seven Seeds.
