The Los Aguacatones farm takes its name from an avocado project started by the Morales family in 2009. Last year we bought a naturally processed lot from this farm that went on to become one of our most popular releases of 2019. We decided to go with a washed lot this year that would allow us to showcase coffee from this farm roasted for both espresso and filter. Not only is this coffee a personal favourite of roaster Yoshi, a lot from this farm also placed fourth in this years COE. The winning lot credited to Fredy’s mum Rosa Marie, who also has the distinction of been the namesake for their main farm, Finca Rosma.

Guatemalan coffees are a staple of menu, alongside another Huehuetenango local, Aurelio Villatoro & Family. We had planned on being there in March, but you...2020 happened. This enduring relationship was a comfort, knowing that we had complete faith in Freddy & Aurelio’s production, logistics and shared understanding of quality, with us being on the other side of the world. But of course, we can’t wait to get back to their part of the world.
