WHERE I'M FROM
In the 1990’s, Mauricio’s family had been deprived of their family farm during the post war agricultural reform, which confiscated a number of farms from their owners. Mauricio’s mother, Carmen Elena, found and purchased Santa Rita, a coffee farm with a history that dates back to 1940’s. Because this region is renowned for its strong winds, Maurcio introduced the Pacas varietal in his farm as it is smaller and a more wind resistant bush. It also has as good cup characteristics as its parent, Bourbon.
