ABOUT

A storied variety, saintly coincidence, and the last hurrah. Where to start on this very special release. Last year this coffee won the Honduras Cup of Excellence with an outstanding score of 94.84. A victory which meant the winning lot sold at auction for an eye watering price to Japanese roaster, Maruyama, and we were able to purchase a very small amount. This years Honduras CoE was canceled due to the pandemic. The coffee was not entered, the auction didn’t take place, and the price tag was a little more reasonable.

The effect of the pandemic was felt deeply by Finca Santa Lucia.

Farm Manager, Don Enrique contracted Covid-19, and passed away. This coffee was the last production he oversaw, and by all accounts was better than 2019 CoE winning crop. Mark Dundon (our boss) co-owns the farm, with his good friend Erwin Mierisch.

We scored the coffee 90+ That's a score we seldom arrive at, but at a National CoE competition involving Gesha, it's given out like candy. Well, a slight exaggeration, but we want to put in context why the coffee was 94.84 last year, and 90+ this year.

In this years design we celebrate Santa Luica, who a died a martyr (of course) and is the associated with light & sight - with her day of celebration begin 13th Dec.
