Kiandu AB, Kenya
PROFILE Bright & Juicy
TASTES LIKE Redcurrant, Plum, ToffeeROAST Medium Roast, Espresso Brewing
The second Kenyan release of the year, this time an AB screen size. Typically more of that 'Kenyan Profile' in terms of flavour, and that's exactly what we have with the Kiandu. Classic Red/Black currant juiciness, with bright acids and very sweet stone fruit to back it up. This high quality coffee from the famous Nyeri region will not disappoint those seeking a bright, intense fruit bomb, and will take us all strait to one of our favourite coffee producing regions on the planet. Kiandu Coffee Factory was formed in 1968 under Tetu Coffee Growers Cooperative Society out of 18 factories. In 1989 it merged into Mutheka FCS and in 2011 it became a society of its own. It has 1200 active members. Each of these farmers on average grows 200 or so coffee trees and most farms grow other crops such as maize, beans, and sweet potato.
