A prime location to produce amazing coffees, the area receives constant rainfall for 10 months of the year and a has range of interesting micro-climates. Bayardo is a medium scale producer in La Unión. Caravela started developing relationship with producers in this region in 2012, and a year later installed a dry mill and a cupping lab locally to be closer to farmers and help them produce better quality. Sweet & smooth, what else could you want in an espresso?

ROASTING IS SUBJECTIVE, BUT TRANSPARENCY IS CLEAR
We believe in the future of coffee so we’re publishing the price we pay for coffee, so farmers don’t need to turn to other crops. We’ve listed the FOB (Freight on Board) price we paid to the exporter & within that, the Farmgate price, what Bayardo Rodriguez directly earned for their coffee as parchment. On top of FOB, this coffee was shipped to Melbourne, quality assessments completed, roasted (resulting in a 15% weight loss), & retailed, adding significant costs. You can read more about the way we source coffee via our website.
Compare the different trading models to see what Bayardo would have received if they hadn’t sold to Seven Seeds. We've listed the $AU /kg conversion from $US/lb.
