Urban Coffee Farm @ Food Fest

From Melbourne Food & Wine Festival:

We’re excited to spill the beans on the place to be for 17 days of the Festival, the Urban Coffee Farm and Brew Bar - a reinterpretation of a terraced coffee farm right in the heart of Melbourne.
From 1 – 17 March, this bustling urban oasis in Queensbridge Square will celebrate Melbourne’s famed love affair with coffee.

Designed by internationally acclaimed design practice HASSELL, the farm will use the existing red stairs as the base to feature a ‘mini jungle’ of 125 coffee trees, grown in Australia especially for the project, alongside a range of materials from coffee’s logistical journey, including shipping containers from Melbourne's own port, timber pallets and packing crates.

Wander through the Farm to explore the coffee journey from tree, to bean, to cup; take part in workshops led by some of Melbourne’s leading coffee industry figures including 5 Senses, Small Batch, Market Lane Coffee, St Ali and Seven Seeds; and discover the origins and varietals of coffee from the world’s elusive coffee growing regions.

Can't wait to see the sprawling coffee jungle- this is a great idea to remind us all of the long journey and immense labour involved in getting that little bit of coffee into a cup.  Come and visit us while we man the brew bar on the following days:

BBB Wednesday March 6th, 8am- 6pm
Seven Seeds Saturday March, 9th 8am- 6pm
