The Mierisch family has twice won the Cup of Excellence for their Gesha variety grown at Santa Lucia, one of their farms in Honduras. After purchasing San Jose in 2003, which was their first farm to exceed an altitude of 1,100 meters, they found that the soil composition is similar to that of the Honduran farm, they chose to grow Gesha at San Jose.

Natural processing can sometimes cause Gesha to lose some of its delicate characters. But because this coffee undergoes a cold anaerobic natural process, San Jose maintains its distinctive Gesha flavours while also developing the wild, fruit-forward characteristics associated with natural processing.

Their philosophy regarding fermentation is to enhance the inherent flavours of the coffee rather than obscure the terroir and natural characteristics of its variety.

2018 marked a statement of intent for us, to ensure that people growing exceptional coffee are still doing so in decades to come. 

We started publishing the price we pay to producers exposing the traceability they deserve and discerning drinkers' demand as the new norm. We refer to the most direct payment as ‘Farmgate’.

We’re proud we can publish this for our single origins and house blends.

Seven Seeds has been involved with the Speciality Coffee Transaction Guide as data donors for the past five years. We have signed 'The Pledge', a commitment to transparency in coffee trading.

Roasting and Shipping

We roast our coffee from Monday to Friday, but not every type each day. We aim to ship orders within 1-2 business days.

Roasted coffee reaches it's peak 5-14 days after roasting and stays fresh for up to 30 days. We may send coffee roasted a few days earlier.

The Roastery and Head Office are closed on weekends and public holidays; we do not roast or ship these days.

We offer Standard and Express shipping via Australia Post. Orders over $85 include free Standard shipping.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have concerns about your delivery, but please understand that we cannot control what happens once your order leaves the Roastery. Once the package is with Australia Post, it is out of our hands.

We do not refund or send replacements for orders delayed during transit.

If Australia Post determines that the order has been lost in transit, we can offer you a refund or a replacement.
