Important Update - December Shipping

Following the Black Friday sales and ahead of the Christmas rush period, we are seeing delays with freight through Australia Post.

Unfortunately this is due to the volume of parcels in their network and it is outside of our control.

We will continue to send orders within 1-2 business days as always. For urgent coffee needs, we recommend ordering for pick up from our Fairfield Roastery or visiting a Seven Seeds Cafe.

PRODUCER: Fincas Mierisch

RELATIONSHIP: Sixth Year of purchasing

ORIGIN PARTNER: Fincas Mierisch / San Vicente

Santa Lucia is a recent addition to the Fincas Mierisch family, purchased in 2014, two years after its sister farm, Cerro Azul. The farm was almost abandoned but had enough infrastructure for coffee cultivation. The vision was to grow unique or heirloom varietals, a vision now realized with Santa Lucia cultivating Laurina, Java, Orange/Yellow Bourbon, Yellow Pacamara, Ethiosar, SL-28, and Gesha. Seven Seeds has a special connection to Santa Lucia, with co-owner Mark helping to purchase and set up the farm, giving our roasters access to incredibly rare lots over the last five years.

Our second release from Santa Lucia is a sparkly, blissful Yellow Pacamara lot. It’s a tree that demands attention to detail but produces a spectacular cup. This is the first year we have featured the Yellow Pacamara as a singular release, although last year it did appear on the menu in a nano-blend from the farm. For those unfamiliar, this coffee is summery and tropical—perfect for the halcyon days ahead.

Earlier this year, co-owner Mark and Head Roaster Ryan visited Santa Lucia, met the Fincas Mierisch team, and planned a future for coffee together. This direct connection allows for a true farm-to-cup experience.

Transparency

2018 marked a statement of intent for us, to ensure that people growing exceptional coffee are still doing so in decades to come.

We started publishing the price we pay to producers exposing the traceability they deserve and discerning drinkers' demand as the new norm. We refer to the most direct payment as ‘Farmgate’.

We’re proud we can publish this for our single origins and house blends.

Seven Seeds has been involved with the Speciality Coffee Transaction Guide as data donors for the past five years. We have signed 'The Pledge', a commitment to transparency in coffee trading.

Roasting and Shipping

We roast our coffee from Monday to Friday, but not every type each day. We aim to ship orders within 1-2 business days.

Roasted coffee reaches it's peak 5-14 days after roasting and stays fresh for up to 30 days. We may send coffee roasted a few days earlier.

The Roastery and Head Office are closed on weekends and public holidays; we do not roast or ship these days.

Thanks for understanding and happy brewing!
