The yearly arrivals of Geisha coffees from Panama never fail to arouse a fair bit excitement around Seven Seeds as well as with all the discerning filter drinkers out there. Hacienda La Esmeralda has been at the forefront of Geisha production since the early 2000s, and the lot that we bought at auction this year is no exception to the stunning, complex cups that have arrived from the Peterson family in previous years.
After it landed in the storeroom a couple of weeks ago we have spent the time roasting and cupping, roasting and cupping, and have arrived at the perfect roast profile to exhibit notes of tea-like bergamont, lemon acidity and an incredibly clean finish. It's also a fully-certified with Rainforest Alliance, meaning that the Petersons have gone to extra lengths to ensure sustainable production.
Introducing Esmeralda León, walking the walk at all our cafes this week.
