Frinsa Collective, Indonesia

$25.00

The first lot we've purchased from Java is a unique one, combining the upfront flavour and structure of black tea with an indulgent dessert like finish.

Sourcing

PRODUCER: Wildan Mustofa

RELATIONSHIP: First year of purchasing

ORIGIN PARTNER: Frinsa Collective

The Frinsa Collective centres on a family‑owned estate known as Frinsa, run by Wildan Mustofa. The “collective” refers to the family’s purchasing of coffee from neighbouring producers for processing and sale through the Frinsa Estate. Wildan oversees the agricultural and processing side of the business, while his wife Atieq manages contracts and their son Fikri leads the cupping.

The coffee is rinsed, sorted, and depulped on the same day it’s delivered, then fermented for 18 hours. After fermentation, it’s washed to remove the mucilage and dried on patios for 7 to 10 days.

Java is the largest island in Indonesia, and Bandung, located three hours from Jakarta, is its third largest city. This is our first time purchasing coffee from this region, and our first lot from Java entirely. It carries a distinctive flavour profile, with a structure reminiscent of black tea and a dessert‑like sweetness that makes it truly unique.

Transparency

2018 marked a statement of intent for us, to ensure that people growing exceptional coffee are still doing so in decades to come.

We started publishing the price we pay to producers exposing the traceability they deserve and discerning drinkers' demand as the new norm. We refer to the most direct payment as ‘Farmgate’.

We’re proud we can publish this for our single origins and house blends.

Seven Seeds has been involved with the Speciality Coffee Transaction Guide as data donors for the past five years. We have signed 'The Pledge', a commitment to transparency in coffee trading.

Roasting and Shipping

We roast our coffee from Monday to Friday, but not every type each day. We aim to ship orders within 1-2 business days.

Roasted coffee reaches it's peak 5-14 days after roasting and stays fresh for up to 30 days. We may send coffee roasted a few days earlier.

The Roastery and Head Office are closed on weekends and public holidays; we do not roast or ship these days.

Thanks for understanding and happy brewing!
