New Release: Kefyalew Deressa Tulu, Ethiopia

Our Ethiopian shipment has arrived and brings you the perfect coffee to kick off the coming Spring months. Described by the Seven Seeds roasting team as “a cup of pure magic”, Kefyalew Deressa Tulu is bright and vibrant, with next-level florals. Joining our single origin filter menu today, we are thrilled to be one of the first roasters to buy coffee from Kefyalew Tulu and share it with all coffee lovers.

2022 is the first year Kefyalew Tulu has exported coffee, following recent legislative changes in Ethiopia allowing direct trade with roasters such as Seven Seeds. The purchase of this coffee is a fantastic example of how close we are with our sourcing partners; Moata at Co Qua presented the Kefyalew Deressa Tulu to us with a hunch that it would be right up our alley, and he was right - it was love at first sip. We are happy to say we are one of only three roasters internationally to purchase this coffee.

Kefyalew Tulu’s story is an inspirational one. He began his career in the coffee industry as a maintenance technician for coffee pulpers and rose to become a national distribution manager. A true entrepreneur, Kefyalew purchased land of his own and set up a wet mill in the Gera region, close to the world-famous Nano Challa mill. Seven Seeds could not be more excited to showcase Kefyalew's coffee as our first Ethiopian release for the season, and we look forward to growing this relationship.
