Putra Gayo is the first-ever espresso micro-release to feature on the Seven Seeds menu. This unique coffee comes from Aceh Tenga and Bener Meriah, located at the northern end of Sumatra, Indonesia. It's our first time purchasing naturally processed coffee from this region, made possible through our supply partners at Cafe Imports.
Iwannitosa Putra, the owner of Putra Gayo, operates a mill and farm that serve two subregions within Aceh, Sumatra. His expansive farm covers 250 hectares in western Sumatra, home to around 275,000 coffee trees of Gayo 1, 2, and 3 varieties. Among these coffee trees, you'll find shade trees like Lamtoro, Banana, Orange, Avocado, and Jackfruit.
Iwannitosa specializes in both washed and natural coffees, a contrast to the common Sumatra wet-hulled process. Expect a coffee as adventurous as it is vibrant, reflecting the dedication and expertise of its producers.
