Lunches for Los Pequeños Returns For 2023

Lunches for Los Pequeños is Back!

We are thrilled to announce the return of our fundraising campaign that supports the Finca Rosma Coffee Kinder in Huehuetenango, Guatemala.

The Morales family established Finca Rosma Coffee Kinder, a preschool that provides a safe and healthy learning environment for children of farm workers and other local community members in the region. This programme is funded by the Morales family, with assistance from supply partners in the coffee industry.

In November 2022, coinciding with our Guatemalan seasonal releases, Seven Seeds launched the Lunches for Los Pequeños campaign. You can read more about last year's campaign HERE, but in short, the campaign aims to raise funds to supply a daily lunch and snack to the preschool students at Coffee Kinder. Last year, together, we raised $3011 AUD, equating to providing for seven children throughout the 3-month harvest season.

This year, the Lunches for Los Pequeños campaign returns with the goal of raising $5000AUD. To kick things off, we will contribute 50c from every cup of Los Aguacatones sold in-store at our Carlton location from mid-October onwards.

A percentage of profits from single-origin coffees sold at retail will also contribute to the cause. Online customers can make further donations at the checkout should they wish. It was a heartwarming experience last year to see the generosity of our community!

In March, Seven Seeds co-founder Mark Dundon travelled to Guatemala and had the opportunity to visit the kindergarten during the children's graduation ceremony. It's important to Seven Seeds that our commitment to producers supports their initiatives, and seeing smiling faces first-hand in an environment that is established by the community, for the community is the reward for us.

We will update the Lunches for Los Pequenos campaign online; keep an eye on our Instagram and website to track progress and learn more about this important initiative.
