As the season turns, Guatemala returns to our coffee menu, and we’re thrilled to celebrate our enduring partnership with Familia Morales in Huehuetenango. This remarkable relationship has spanned an impressive eleven years and is still going strong.
Finca Rosma is one of the most interesting and exciting coffees we have in the roastery right now. Its natural processing infuses the coffee with an abundance of fruity goodness and a unique personality. The meticulous cultivation results in a cup with a crystal-clear finish.
The land this coffee hails from was originally acquired by Don Alejandro Morales in 1963. Fast forward to 1980, when Dr Fredy Morales renamed the farm “Finca Rosma” in honour of his wife, Rose Mary. A family business that has dedicated itself to not only improving the land on which they work but also the community in which they exist. They work and live with intention and purpose, simultaneously running award-winning farms, while continuously trying to better the community around them.
Last year, with a huge amount of help from our customers, we were able to contribute just over $5000 AUD to the school programme Familia Morales runs for the local coffee community. Purchasing coffees like these, allows coffee roasters and coffee drinkers alike to have a more direct impact on the people that produce them.
