When Assemble Communities approached Seven Seeds Coffee Roasters with the brilliant idea to hold educational cupping sessions for Assemble Future residents, we were immediately on board. With both sessions completed over two Saturday mornings, we refelct on the success of the interactive events.
The sessions were held at 38 Albemarle Street and run by Erick, Courtney and Ryan from our Sales and Roasting team as part of a project update.
“Cupping” is an industry wide practice used by producers, roasters and baristas to taste coffee. In addition to being a quality control method, cupping is an excellent way to increase knowledge about identifying tasting notes and the differences between cultivars and countries of origin.
We began the sessions by speaking of the important relationships Seven Seeds has with our producers and the coffee origins. Assemble Future residents were then walked through the cupping process and given the chance to try it out for themselves. With new coffees being introduced as often as weekly, it has always been a priority for Seven Seeds to educate on the origins and profiles of our releases.
Seven Seeds proudly supplies coffee to Cassette, the waste free cafe at the base of 38 Albemarle, as well as the residents of 64 households in the same building.
Partnerships with companies such as Assemble Communities, whose commitment to sustainability and efforts to minimise environmental impact aligns closely with our own are incredibly important to us.
